Improv final reflection
I entered my improv and creativity class with an open mind excited to see what the class is all about. Throughout my first semester of my experience at Cheshire I learned a lot about who I am as a creative person and what really makes me a creative person in everything I do. I learned that I work very well when I just improvise my ideas on the spot and use my creativity to write, to create, to think, or just anything. I learned that when I put my mind to it I can work very hard and get a lot if not all my work done in a short period of time. I also learned that when I really put my mind to it and even listen to music while working I got a lot more work done. Music motivates me a lot and it really helps me get my work done fast and efficiently, and that is when I have my best thinking and my hardest work. Working in groups I originally had thought would not be a good experience. However my opinion changed quickly. When we started working in the groups I got paired with 2 people who I had not talked to very much since we had all met in the beginning of the year. These 2 people quickly became close to me and gave me an opportunity to open up my mind more and meet more people. It was also just a very fun experience working with new people and all of us putting our creativity together into one project. The group work we did was overall fun and a cool new experience. We also all learned how to work together with people you don't know very well and how to divide up ideas and combine certain detail and things. Groups were great for working on these skills which will be very helpful in life and everything that comes with it. Some things that challenged me throughout the course and semester were, the large amounts of work, projects, and homework. It seemed that this took up a lot of my time and just added stress that was not needed. I enjoyed creating some of the projects. For example the final project I got to go to the field with my good friend TJ and just shoot fun/funny videos for an hour or two then turn it into a funny video that shows off my product at the end for TJ, me, and all of our friends to have a good laugh and hopefully earn a good grade with it. I feel that I really reached deep by the end of the semester in comparison to me just breaching the surface of my creativity during the Lego activity in the beginning. This course really helped me as a creative person and as just a person in general in the way that I know how to reach deep and create ideas and plans for the future.
